WTF? Battlestar Galactica...

I was really looking forward to this mini-series next week. Then I saw how they changed it...

Battlestar Galatica

Starbuck is a girl? Boomer is a girl? The Cylons have a Girl robot?

That was in The Empire Strikes Back. Luke didn't know Leia was his sister till The Return of the Jedi.

My brother told me that in an interview with Edward James Olmos, he himself said that this remake sucks. That's real good promotion, when the star of a show says it sucks.

Just look at the main website. I thought it was suppose to be generations after the original when I saw the commercials. And I don't remember a female Cylon in the original.

i agree they dont need to do a remake. Unless they did it right....which means KEEP STARBUCK A MAN!!!!

I love old-school BG. It taught me many things as a young boy growing up...mainly that robots will one day take over the galaxy and try to exterminate us all. Oh and that even tho someone like Cassiopeia can clean up her life and become a medic....at heart they are still a dirty, naughty, whore.

And if anyone mentions Galactica 1980....I will kick you in the nuts for bringing up such a godawful memory.

My stance on the new Battle Star Galticia and all other remakes:


DON'T FREAKING REMAKE CLASSICS!!!!!!

Leave our love and memories of these intact.

BAH you people call yourself fans of BG and purists If any of you know anything at all, you would remember that in the
pilot movie the Cylons were alive aliens, not robots

so even the series was not true and pure to the original idea.

new BG

Has the show been on TV yet? I thought it was supposed to debut next week? Up here in Canada I won't get to see it until January.

I heard about it, and read through the website. It think it will be an interesting take on the original idea. Fairly intelligently thought out. The idea of the Cylons being a rogue human creation is pretty good. The treatment of the Baltar character looks better than the original, too.

The very basic story idea is the same:
Human race is treacherously attacked by a robot race, and the survivors are saved and led away by a suspicious old warrior, to find a new home.

A lot of the internal character relations and conflicts should be the same, too. Though they seem to have been reassigned, in some cases. Boomer gets the adopted little boy. Starbuck feels the guilt for the death of Adama's youngest son, rather than Apollo.

I've always wondered how much the original creators of BG owed their ideas to Fred Saberhagen's "Berserker" stories.
