Hello all...Help my sorry rear end get a job!
I'm seventeen years old, good natured,and ebcuase I'm undergoing independant study..instead of conventional schooling, I have upwards of 40+ hours fee a week,and stilll, no one will hire me. I have no criminal record,but this will be my first job.
Haha..I'm in San Diego, The Clairemont Area..if anyone can hook me up with a Job...feel free to do so, I'm a hard worker, and well....I need a greater responsibility than my current schoolwork.

Yeah,sorry for rambling on. This is my my last hope, I've mowed lawns,washed windows (all for houses, residents, etc)
I just..I dont know. I'm very passionate about anythign and everythign I do, and I used to work odd jobs in vegas, labor, lawn care, etc, and In my honest opinion, I work very hard. Heck, I'm even workign hard,trying to finish school early,and get into junior college..and find a job.

Flames, tips,help, job leads of any kind are welcome, preferably no flaming, but what the heck, anything is good.

Shut the Chuf up with the CHUFF CHUFF stuff, I think it's retarded, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't maent to be used that way. but anyways, just apply EVERYWHERE. Eventualy someone will hire you. Dont just look in want adds, most jobs arn't advertised. Ask for jobs even if they arnt offering jobs just in case.

I've looked in the paper, and most nearly all of which job ads are listed, there is a need to be over the age of 18, which I am not. I do however, like the fact that while the 'Chuff chuff' was the last thing in my post, you made it your first priority, I appriciate that.

People use it too much, It's always the noobs that come and see it and think "hey, If I say it i'l be cool" and put in their sigs and end their posts with it. Read the freaking thread on it, it's not supposed to be something you go around saying all the time!

Your best bet is through your parents' friends, or your friends' parents. It's harder for us high schoolers to get average jobs when there are so many more overqualified people competing out there. I would take the first job you can get, even if it stinks. You can always quit, and having previous job experience will help your odds with a more desirable job. But what do I know, I've never had a job. I'll probably be getting one this summer. Cars don't by themselves. Well at least I'm not betting on it.

I'm really surprised that all those places turned you down. Have you tried the local pb shops?

1) Apply everywhere... and I do mean everywhere.. you never know.
2) Take anything you can get... part time is fine.You need the work experience if you want to go up. Besides its proboly better to take part time at first and see how things go before diving in full time.
3)Try a temp service. They will normaly have lots of little one or two day jobs to do. Great flexability and it lets you try alot of differnt environments.
4)Put a resume together. I know you havent got much to put on it... but that dosent matter. I have piles of work experience from being a hireing manager at a technology company to working as a welder, hell even as a webmaster/photogropher for a inernet porn site and yet my resume is only a page long. Put things like hobbies and any extracuricular activitys. This stuff lets them know that you are a good reliable person.
5)Make face to face impressions whenever you can. This is important. That first impression will make or break you. Would you rather it be from a peice of paper or from you flesh and blood.
6)Tieng in with the last item... dress appropriatly, even if its just to pick up an ap. Dress preppy. No one will beleive suit and tie and will dismiss you out of hand but if you come in looking like a punk they are going to lable you as a punk, pure and simple.

On with that final point.... sorry to say you are a kid still when it comes to the work world. Be prepaired to be treeted that way, and be prepaired for some shocks.
