unlocking a cellphone(v60c)

Hey all, I have a motorola v60c that I want to get into and "change" a few things on. Does anyone know how to do this or know anyplace on the web that tells you how? Thanks

The "alltel" thing that pops up when I turn it on, mostly, I want to rest it to verizon and unlock it so I don't have roaming charges. I'm told all these things can be done, I just don't know how. I'm assuming its some code you punck into the phone, like the way the guy does it when you first buy the phone, ya know?

Unlocking a cell phone really just unlocks it so that you can use it on any service. As for hacking it to have it no roaming charges is against the law. It has something to do with changing IMEI number. If the SP finds out, the phone will be blacklisted. Meaning you can never use it again. That information may be also shared with other SP so that they won't be cheated out. But to answer your first question, search google for "cellphone hacks". Most of those sites listed has numbers to download new screens your asking for. They also have ringtones that you can download for a small fee. But there are some sites that lets you do if for free, just not many anymore.

Your right, IMEI is for GSM phones. I think the ESN is for non gsm phones.

the esn number doesnt actually have anything to do with hacking into a cell phone

you have to know the program code, i am sure you can find them on the internet somewhere. i cant remember the v60 program code, i do remember that it has to be entered within the first 12 seconds after the phone is turned on

Google on Cellphone Phreking

Dunno about free roaming, but i have read that when you prog a phone with a 'ghost number' or w/e it's called, you have to tell whoever called not to tell anyone who they are talking to cause the cell phone company will call and ask em who it was or somthing like that.
