How many times did they test it? If they did it more than once maybie you will pass. Get a new cat for like 100bucks and be done with it What were you high on?

Here in Calli, we run a full tank of premium, with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner until empty. Refill with regular and drive it until it gets hot (turn on the AC), then pull into the test station.

This has worked for me for 25 years.

Why the AC?

AC forces the engine to work harder, as it now has to run the pumps to circulate the AC system. As long as the engine has more resistence to work against, it will run hotter.

Heat + Emission gear = likely pass %

My car runs cooler with the AC on. AC on = Cooling fan on.
They have it on the Dyno for about 10 minutes to "simulate driving condition" I would think they did that to get a more accurate reading at higher temperatures, as well as at differant rpm ranges.

well there was a car auction today at Van Horn. i put a 400$ bid on a mazda 626 that should stand till 12 tomorow when the auction ends... if i win my mommy will pay and say merry christmas

its not government... um... when you buy a new car and do a trade in... what do you think they do with the trade ins?

generally they try to sell them, the ones that are junk or wont sell go to the auctions.

We have government auctions for impounded cars. If you get pulled over for DWI, you loose your car and it goes up for auction.

Fill the crankcase with Wesson or Crisco oil. Make sure it is pure vegetable oil. It wont smoke when it burns so you WILL pass. Dont tack up the motor too high with this oil in there. You will spin a bearing for sure. Refill with good oil after sticker is on.

Umm, that sounds like a bad idea to me
