              I also have been waiting for the next big space mission, but sadly do not see within the next decade. I see two main problems; NASA's continued use of the space shuttle and the continued construction of the ISS.

              If the United States continues to use outdated and dangerous spacecraft, then they will slowly fall behind in "space supremacy". The ISS is pointless in its current state since only three astronauts can live aboard it, and it takes 2.5 people a day to effectively run it. If we built a crew return vehicle (CRV) that could accommodate 7 people, then the ISS would have a purpose. Also the ISS has a 10 year shelf life from initial construction before reevaluation and possible destruction (I think that is the time).

              Sorry if this was confusing or absolutely wrong.

                And I am kind of torn on this issue. Private industry will do it better/safer/faster/cheaper, but it will be some time before it makes buisness sense.

                But even my politics can't get in the way of my fascination with space. lets go!

                          no contry or government can own any celestrial planet. i remember that dude who legaly owns the moon on connan. and they cant take it away for any reason so if china was to land on the moon that guy could sue them for trespassing.

                                I'm excited we're finally going to take space seriously again. And all it took is for China to start putzing around in space recreating our accomplishments of 50 years ago for it to happen.
