    Video cards

Im lookin to get a new video card. I dont really need a high end one. I was thinking about a Nvidea Geoforce 5200 or a ATI Radeon 9600se if you could tell me which is better and if there are any other good ones out there in the price range that would be great.

They both are aroun 100 to 120 dollars.

    Thanks

FX 5200's are way cheaper than $100. Try more like $70.

Go here: http://www.newegg.com/app/manufactor...alog=48&DEPA=1 specify FX5600 in the search criteria on the left.

For the price you are looking at, you can get an FX5600.

I would go with the ATI cards...the current nVidia chips have a hard time with DirectX 9...although, I think the current drivers help improve the performance of DX9...however, the Radeon cards still out perform it. Better investment in the long run.

My brother got a 9600 for $125 (I forget what the letters at the end were, sorry :) ) but it was a 256MB DDR card. Not a bad deal at all...

Couldn't have said it better myself :)

Going by your pricerange, I'd go w/ the 9600Pro.. The XT of equivalent price isn't worth the $$..

Check out www.pricewatch.com..found the 9600Pro for very cheap
I'm way too old for this ****.

I can't stress it enough, Nvidia is good for chipsets not GFX cards... A Radeon will out-perform a GeForce FX in games, not even couting it'll be more gorgeous thanks to awesome pixel shaders!
bla bla bla, does anyone read this anyway ?

The NVidia FX line was a miserable failure, At least when compared price/performance to ATI's 9700 and 9800. The FX 5200-5600 are really low end cards that NV decided to sneak next to the 5800 (which is still over priced) The 9700pro is the best deal, and probly performs better than a 5800FX.
