    Ipod's Dirty Secret

Have you ever wondered what happens when the battery on your Ipod goes bad? Well, it will after a year to eighteen months. This is what happens when you call Apple: http://www.ipodsdirtysecret.com/ Watch the movie.

I have been considering picking up an Ipod for a while, but I may have to re-think it now.

Dang... that's just a dirty thing to do. I used to believe in Apple years back, and I've been considering getting a PowerBook because of OS X. I think I'll just get a PC laptop and throw on FreeBSD instead.

Unfortunatly, this does not appear to be an option.

                Here ya go:

Update: Despite recent misrepresentations, Apple does offer a $99 iPod battery replacement program at this point in time and there are also 3rd party options available for only $50. According to sources, Apple is planning on introducing an official iPod Battery Replacement program. Through the program, iPod owners will be able to send in their out of warranty iPods to replace worn batteries. The lack of an official battery replacement program has been a common criticism amongst iPod owners.

Ditto. Apple lost themselves after they canned Steve Jobs.
