    Help pick Mango's next ride

Ok I want intelligent feedback please. No flames, etc.

Right now I have a turbo Jetta as a daily driver and the lease is up in April. I like the size and how I can zip around in it. At the same time it can't haul much in the back for obvious reasons. So which would you choose and why?

    I'm considering:

2004 Explorer -- I like the size and features

2004 WRX Sport Wagon - The price is nice and I like the smaller size. Turbo 4 boxer engine w/ AWD mmmmm *drool

    and finally:

350Z - I could just say screw the SUV and get what I really want. I can afford the base model, not the touring/enthusiast/track ones.

    So what would you do?

Uh, I clicked WRX wagon but it voted me for the Explorer. Weird.

Your next car should not be an SUV
i am personally against SUVs in general due to gas guzzle....
get the wagon, both a large sized car and good gas mileage.

well depends..if you just want a car thats fast and looks cool get the 350z..if you want a reliable car that can tow, get the explorer..my dad's work car is an explorer with 170k miles still runs good..and the wagon....don't like those.

I'm not a big fan of fords in general. Their trucks are decent but their suv's aren't impressive. the 250z is swweeeet, but I never recomend a basemodel. It's like buying a v-6 mustang, My cousin is president of the Omaha WRX club and I'm gonna hafta side with him on this one... go WRX. If not, jeep.

By the way, the 350Z has amazing handling and all, but a Nissan mechanic told me they have NO traction in snow/heavy rain. He said they get a lot of wrecked 350Z's because you pretty much can't drive them in the snow, and people insist on trying.

Unless you plan on not driving in the winter, I'd skip it

Yeah that true. It will come down to the WRX or the Ford. I know Law has a WRX (I think), I'm curious if he has any complaints. PM time.

Ok so why does everyone say "get a jeep, get a jeep" ?? What makes them that much better?

I would skip a jeep... while i'm not sure if they've worked all the bugs out of their 4wd system, the interior space isn't all that great compared to its competition.

I voted WRX Wagon... one of the vehicles on my list of possible new rides after graduation...

better milage, its fast, AWD, and you could prolly fit just as much gear as the Exploder... although the new independent rear suspension supposedly made their road-feel way better.

Look into a Passat Wagon? heck, you might be able to order one of the Jetta wagons from Germany... those are pretty nice...

I'd get the z....that's exactly what I'm getting when I commission. A 350z track edition.

I would say the WRX Wagon. AWD and fast! It is the best of both worlds. Don't get me wrong, I like my Explorer, but it is a mom-mobile. The WRX is sporty, reliable and fast!

Jeeps rule all though! I have loved my Wranglers and Grand Cherokee! If Jeep made something larger then the Grand Cherokee, then I would have bought that instead of the Ford.

                        Good luck JT!

WRX! Those things (well, the coupe anyway) are just tearing up the rally circuits all over the place.

Now, if you were out here in sunny/dry Calli, I'd definayely say the 350Z...dems is SHUWEET!

The only real advice I can give is don't get something you can't really afford. A "lesser" vehicle with all the options is better than a more expensive "stripped" model. Speaking from experence.
