I need a FREE program that completely blocks ad's and popups

ok reason being my comp is loaded with spyware ive tried deleting it all just to see it all come back again for some reason i cant find the hidden source files to get rid of it and the way my moms computer is set up i cant actually work on getting all the stuff off... anyways i cant surf the internet like i would like... say i go to download.com the page loads fine then 2 seconds later it brings me to an unrelated site. luckily my AO still works... but i had AdsGone for about a week and that worked wonders but then it just expired so i cant use that anymore. but i need something like that so i can surf the net cuase nothing else has worked... and if anyone knows a spyware program that can get rid of all spyware and all its hidden files and what not that would be great to... i am useing spybot and adaware as we speak right now but it never fully gets the stuff off so any help is greatly appreciated.

Go to google and get their pop up blocker.

In the meantime, also get Search and Destroy if Adware isn't working for you. I'm not sure if S&D is made by spybot(which you already have). Hopefully get rid of some of the spyware that could be installed on your computer.

you probably have some program that is causing you this problem. did you try going to your control panel-add/remove programs - then taking out programs that look suspicious?

                  Try Spybot Search and Destroy
it works pretty good for me, you just have to know which names you're legit automatic updater's are under, so you dont kill them too!

I was so happy with this one (http://www.adsgone.com/), that I actually paid for it! LOL! One of the few times that I had been so frustrated with freeware, that I had to open my wallet...

So far, so good. There's probably some free stuff out there by now that performs just as well...

I like the Google popup blocker, and Ad-Aware is a free program that wipes spyware off your puter... you need to update it every day before you run it (not automatic).

also, turn your security settings up to Medium... and a firewall is nice too.

I pay something like 30 a year for PCCillin... pretty good at catching viruses. it updates almost daily.

Has it reset your homepage default to something else? If so try searching for that under some of the spyware sites. I had one on my old computer that was very difficult to find the source. Once I found it and downloaded the spyware it was gone. If you're downloading spyware and its not the correct one...it won't delete the problem. Good luck!

Check out Freesurfer. That's a great pop up blocker which has an internet cache cleaner built in. It also has a feature that allows you to lock your homepage so websites can't change it.

spybot works good for getting the spyware off of you computer but it doesnt really stop it from getting on there you must run it often to get it off.

i use spyblaster to keep the spyware off. it is updated regularly and since i have installed it spybot has not found one piece of spyware since.

                              i suggest them both

                              oh yeah and there free
