you went for numarks eh? I hope they arent belt drives... you will soon notice, that if this i your first set, they will teach you alot, but you will also realize that while spinning, the start and stop time on them is really slow. if you scratch count on a good second for em to get back up to full speed

save up some more and buy a technic set up er technique how ever it is. their magnetically motor drivin engine is reall nice

Yes...I used to spin back in the days on my belt drive turntables...YUK!! I spun mostly old school funk when scratching, cutting, and transforming was the biggest things to do. The direct drives are usually the best way to go...but magnetic drives? Was TK involved in any of the development of these drives? Hehe!

I love my Technics SP-15, but you can't get them anymore (Last ones were made I believe in 1977 or 78). It's a furniture-mountable (heavy as heck) broadcast turntable with an Audio Technica tonearm and Stanton cartridge. Only have 1, but I just use it to listen to LPs, not DJ.

BTW, the TTX is a Direct-Drive turntable... so no problems there!

Yes those are some good decks.I own the TTX's and 1200's and I can tell you there up there with Techs.I wouldn't give them up for anything.
So what are you going to spin breaks, house,D&B,jungle etc..?
Oh and a word of advice the most important thing you need to do when starting off is to get beatmatching down that's the most basic skill but it doesn't matter what else you can do if you can't beatmatch. It's all about training your ear.Good luck and have fun and be ready to spend mad cash on records.
