1DE, good point..but he still needs to burn. They people he murdered didn't have the same courtesy, nor should he.

Gitaroo..it's the easy way for some, serial killers/rapists/etc..but he's young and stupid. He most likely fears death more than anything else.
Check out the numbers yourself, it cost more to kill someone then to put them in jail for their life.

Alabama will seak the death penelty, the gov already said so, well if he isn't recalled by then.

Jeese if you just took them out back and shot them it'd be so much cheaper. Or find a sturdy oak tree and let him swing till the sun goes down. I'll pay for the bullet and or rope myself.

YAY!! If not Virginia, at least SOMEBODY...

One question though, for anybody who may be able to answer: WHY does ending him now cost more than keeping him alive for 50+ years??
Calling all Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and other east coast AOers...

            5. Cost Effective?: Finally, the cost of imprisoning an offender until he or she dies (given a life expectancy of 70 years) is $600,000. Given the cost of capital litigation (both state and federal), the cost of an execution is $1,800,000. So, we are not really saving money by executing criminals.

not sure how legit the site is, but still shows somewhat cost ratio

I am a firm believer in eye for an eye. You beat some one up with a baseball bat? looks like someone gets some free swings on ya! You wanna snipe someone? sure go ahead but dont be surprised when your on the recieving end of one of the bullets!
