    plumbing help / advice

Attention all AO plumbers! I'm looking for some help with something that's driving me insane... well more insane anyway. I live on the 6th floor of an old 9 story apartment building. The water pressure isn't what you'd call great. When I moved into the apartment the showerhead in the bathroom was a joke. It was one of those pathetic things that can be found in crappy hotels that provides a weak mist that can't even be called a spray. So I purchased two shower heads and a T connector with a shutoff so that I can have either showerhead working (see pic). Now here's the problem, whenever I switch on the big shower head, the thing squeals like a banshee. Now you know that little thing that you pull up on the tap to get the shower going? Sometimes if I jiggle that, I can make the squealing stop, but more often than not, I can't. This used to happen to me at the last building I lived in, but only if I didn't have the tap all the way on. The water pressure was much higher there.
If anyone has any ideas, tips or tricks to fix this, I'd sure love to hear 'em.

    Thanks!

As you inferred, I think it has something to do with the pressure. My shower is usually fine, but if I turn it on when the washing machine is running, it squeals a bit. Unfortunately, I can offer no solutions, except maybe a black market shower head.

can you take away the smaller showerhead? I think its sqeauling because there is not enough psi for both of the heads to work at the same time.

They don't both work at the same time, the T connector has a button on the back that sends the water to one or the other. When the water's coming out of the smaller one, there's no problem, but when it's switched to the larger one, that's when it starts squealing. I think that the problem lies with the faucet. I might just have to get a new one.

Just got back from buying a new tub diverter spout and that seems to have solved it
Looks like I won't have to climb that tall building with the sniper scope after all.
