UK ps2 game, will it play on US console?

Say you were to buy a PS2 game (Tony Hawk undergroung) in England then bring it back to the US, would it play on a US bought PS2 console?

are you in the uk now??

i would assume it would, because they should still spin at the same rmp's, but then again, they might not.

it should work, and if it doesnt, keep it as a reminder of your trip

I wish I could have gone to europe.

It was a present from my aunt for my cousin, she got it when she was in England. We get a message that says 'Please insert a playstation, or playstation 2 format disc'

i cnat remember the format but no it wont...sorry to bring u the bad news. I think it has to do with the writing format. or you can just ask someone in a gmae store that always helps too.
Lets all do this... get out our paintball guns.. hijack some airlines full of these "Special" Folks and run them into some things like The Backstreet Boys and Al Gore's Baldspot.

Nope, it won't work unless you have a modchip. Games from europe are PAL and american games need to be NTSC. If you try to play a PAL game on a NTSC tv either the color, framerate, or resolution is messed up unless there is NTSC support or you have a converter.

Same thing applies the other way around we have to get PS2's modded to be able to play US games...videos are now widely available to have NTSC playback and although DVD's can be unlocked to allow any region some makes are locked to the region and can't be messed with *cough* SONY *cough*
If you have a dvd drive in your pc you can only change the region 5 times and the last region you set to it stays set! I was in a pc shop the other day and there was a customer in front of me complaining that his DVD drive he had to set the region everytime he wanted to play a film.....complaining !!! He had the perfect DVD drive and was told so by the salesman but still he wanted just the 5 choices
