    whats with the links?!?!?!

does anyone know what keeps putting a "links" folder in my favorites? I've put up with this for years and it's finally got me so irritated I could spit!

what is causing this and how do I stop it...

IE does that for some stupid reason. Theres prolly some complicated registry hack to kill it perminantly, but I just right click, go to properties and check hidden.

That folder is where Internet Explorer keeps the shortcuts you have in your "links" tool bar. I'm not sure you can delete it...

Why not put something in it?

Or try right-clicking on one of your toolbars and making sure "links" is not checked... Not positive, but that might let you delete it.

don't know if this works, its from tweakxp.
        1. Start regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
        2. Locate the string "LinksFolderName", right click on it and select modify and set the value to a blank string.
        3. Exit regedit
        4. Now delete the Links folder.
        should

You could also just use mozilla.

Or you could alwa get a real browser like Mozilla. I personally prefer Firebird, but normal Mozilla is great if you use the email features and whatnot.

Damn, didn't realize e mag beat me to it, hehe.

Yeah, I really recommend mozilla. For IE users it is really easy to adjust to using it, and it has a lot of very usefull features not found in IE, and it is also more secure.

Yea, IE is more of a security hole than a browser. lol

And I just LOVE the tabed browsing.
