    New Years in Times Square

Three friends of mine and myself decided that we wanted to spend New Years in Times Square and it was definitely an experience. We got there at about 6 pm (there was already a huge crowd) and had to go through security a few times before they led us into our "pen". Once there you weren't allowed to leave at all. All you could is pray that you didn't have to use the restroom. So, we stood or sat on the street in the same spot for 6 hours. People were so bored that they were making human pyramids. I'd do it again but I'll be better prepared for the next time.

The big yellow clock on the right was fast so it was actually midnight

          Looks like fun!

6 hours without moving???? Ouch. I would have gone totally nuts! Did you at least have somewhere to sit?

Well, you could sit in the street. At first, lots of people ran up and sat down so that it would't get too crowded to sit later on. You didn't have much room to move around, though.

Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

You go see KISS Clare? I don't like them, but if they were in concert, I'd go see them, they are like History.

Wow! Times Square. My friend mentioned going there next New Years. Is it worth it? I've done Vegas New Years and it was just so-so. Everybody out on the strip just walking around. To get in a casino you need a room key. On top of that all the min. bets are jacked up. Donno if I want to hang out for 6 hours in Times Square.

Nah, I didn't see KISS. It would be cool to go to one of their concerts before I die, though.

                      Is it worth it?
Well, it's all part of the experience so it was! I don't know if I'd do it again but I can atleast say that I was there for one of the New Year celebrations.

That is crazy, I was in the pen right in front of yours Clare, under the clock!!! We started at 42nd street then the cops kicked us all the way back to our spot between 47 and 48! Weird!
The picture is from my pen facing back towards where Clare was!!!!!!!

Sounds and looks fun. I got the exreme pleasure of joining 78,000 people in Disneyland (not including Downtown Disney, or California Adventures) and let me tell you... it was like trying to get away with murder to get near the castle before the midnight fireworks. I can only imagine how it would of been in Times Square.
                            Sorry, I'm old

You were in NY and didn't say hi? Tsk tsk, Im very dissapointed in you...

I did Times Square once, I mean, I figure I live right here, I might as well do it once, right? It was boring, and cold. That about sums it up.
