My intention with that poorly phrased statement was to show that elitist attitudes are the backbone of fascist, rascist, sexist, and many other ideologies/ viewpoints/ bigotries that plague our world. The fact that you think your opinion is more important that others doesn't make you a rascist, and i shouldn't have suggested it did. In others it may mean just that however. I don't think its a big leap to make from the value of an opinion to the value of a person/ race/ gender/ sexual orientation. My beliefs make up who i am, if my opinion is worthless, so am i. Get what i mean?

Didn't say anyone's opinion was worthless I said, not all are equal. Not by a friggin damned sight.

There are a lot, A LOT of peoples opinions that I hold in rather high regard over my own, deferring to their greater experience, or particular insights.

However, I also understand that there are a LOT of people that don't have a clue, and therefore don't rate in my book. Could they change that? Absolutely. Are there those that will never change? Yep. Do I care? Not especially.

I disagree with your summation however. I think it takes one hell of a leap to go from discounting an opinion to discounting someone on the basis of their enthnicity, creed, gender, or what have you.

The particular example you seem to have taken umbrage to, where I told that Scumbag New Jersey Punk that he was CB Light, comes from knowing him on this forum for a while. He's a good kid, a bit misguided and shackled with the birthright that comes with being from Jersey, but he'll learn.

btw, Make your time lyer, all your hockey teams are belong to us....

Believe what you want, Bush didn't win legally. Its no coincidence that the governor of Florida is George Bush's brother. The only reason Bush won is because over 57,000 voters were scrubbed from Florida's voter rolls, the majority of them minorities and 90% of them democrats, for being "felons" (most of which were either convicted of only misdemeanors or nothing at all). That's a lot considering Bush won by less than 1000 votes. This list was compiled by ChoicePoint, a private firm with republican ties which is also guilty of selling voters' personal information. Florida is the only state to do this through a private company. I don't think this is a coincidence and apparently neither does the NAACP since they're now suing Katherine Harris for infringing on voters' rights.

Get your news from somewhere other than CNN or FOX. Some people actually do investigative journalism rather than read from scripts written by corporations and the government.

Yet Jersey did not elect Hillary Clinton. Hmmm.

Oh and Zygote, deal with it. Who now sits in the white house, eh? Was there a coup I am not aware of? Did Gore not finally concede?

If Jeb Bush was so bad and evil and the Florida Democrats and minorities so mad, then why did Jeb get re-elected in a landslide? I love seeing the liberals scream about how they were going to target him and get him out, then fall flat on their faces. What makes you think the 04 election will be any different?

As 1DE mentioned earlier, IF Gore had won his home state of Tennessee, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. But, when the people from your own state won't vote for you, what does that say? Especially of the man who invented the Internet.

The ballots that were used in the disputed districts were APPROVED by DEMOCRATS. Also during the recount of the "hanging and dimpled chad", where there had to be 3 people per group doing the recount, the Democrats in most cases, held a 2-1 advantage per group.

You don't understand...Bush did win the most votes. I have no issue with that. But the reason he won was that tens of thousands of votes that would have been cast for Gore were illegally excluded.

And no, I won't get over it.

Sadly, I think Bush may legitimately win this time if a decent candidate doesn't come forward.

To say that they were illegally excluded, when in some cases they could not be electronically counted because of "hanging or dimpled chad", means that you would have to re-count EVERY district in EVERY state that used the same voting technique. Algore and his party only wanted to target specific districts.

Illegally? Why because AlGore and his liberal THIEVES didn't get what they wanted, which was a one sided recount of Democrat held districts?

And why would it be SAD if President Bush won again, no doubt in a landslide? I would think that you would be happy that the process would have worked. But I'd be wrong, you want what you want, legalities and process be damned.

I don't think I'm explaining this very well...

Their votes wouldn't be counted no matter how many times they were recounted because they were never allowed to be cast in the first place due to some shady voter roll scrub lists.

Here's a couple articles that exlpain it better than I can, if you care to read them:

Thousands of Florida residents were struck from the voter lists because they were mistakenly identified as ex-felons, just months before what has become the closest election in US history. With Bush apparently leading Gore by only hundreds of votes, in a state with hundreds of thousands of disenfranchised voters, could similar errors be tipping the race?

And a couple from Greg Palast, the journalist who blew it all open:

It would be sad if Bush were re-elected simply because I think he's a horrible president, whether he's legally elected this time or not.

Don't be scared of the independent media. The fact that they aren't owned by GE or some other corporation with special interests means they can actually report the news rather than whore themselves.
