Well, my trusty Jeep Cherokee is finally getting replaced. After some scary incidents involving the engine quitting in the middle of nowhere, the breaks locking in heavy traffic, and hot oil dripping randomly, my dad determined that it was more than a good time to find a replacement. A friend of ours was looking for a beater truck to carry junk in and he had a '91 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L(v-6) with a little over 200k on it, and it never had any mechanical problems. Most of those miles are highway miles. Anyway, I wanna know if anyone else has or had a '90-'95 Rodeo and can tell me more about it. I am looking to do some four-wheeling with it and from what I can tell it should be good at that. So yea, when it shows up, I'll try and get some pics for everyone to see. It's in great condition considering it's age.
I'm getting a new truck!

Well, my sister has a Honda Passport, and the two are basically the same car. It's a 2000 I believe, and personally, I don't like it. Feels cramped to me, and her brakes are stiff. Not trying to influence you out of it, but I'm not the one to ask, because I've only driven 3 cars on the road. The passport, the durango, and my neighbors 78 vette (Most fun I've had my entire life).
The only problem that my sister ever had was that the driver window locked up and wouldn't go up any more. Besides that, great suv for the price, and it's got a nice amount of power. -
why in the world would you buy a vehicle with 200k on it? that is crazy. you should pick up an 88 chevy k5 blazer. oooohhh man, i love my truck, i wish i could go home and be with it again
anyway, get a real truck if you wanna offroad, that small japanese piece of junk and gonna cut it. the only foreign company that makes decent trucks is toyota, the landcruiser is awesome on the trails, and with a little work, any tacoma will do great as well.Zaszczycają waszą ojczyznę

This isn't my choice btw, just so yall know. I did not make this decision. If it was my decision, I'd get a F250 w/ powerstroke or something.Comment

so true about foreign trucks.
My dad has two toyotas, one is a 2001 Tundra (very good truck)
The other is a 81 somethingorother, i drove that for two years. GOOD truck, and at school i could say my car is older than i am
But then agin i could do that with my jimmy too
to answer your question, yes the Rodeo is a decent truck. If your doing just amature off roading than it is an acceptable choice. My neighbor has one (actualy he just sold it) and it was fun to take drag it thru the mud n stuff. But if your into that hardcore 5hit than go with something stronger, better built, braver, better looking, go with an American truck.|C|I|G|A|R|S| My Antidrug

city miles and highway miles are two totally different things. highway miles there is barely any stop and go driving. in city there is alot of stop and go driving. and stop and go driving puts alot of wear on the engine.Originally posted by devildog

i know the difference between highway and city miles, but it doesnt make a difference at 200,000 miles. thats 200k miles of thousand of degrees eating away at the pistons, and the cylinder walls.Originally posted by rehme

the only worst thing about city driving is the wear it puts on the drivetrain, both wear the motor out the same.Zaszczycają waszą ojczyznę
