Attention Xpert Pshopers - I Need HELP

Alrite, this is regarding my flash website/template. I'm planning on making mousover effects for my button, and in the over stage a transparent duplicate of the original text will be needed. For this to be done a transparent .GIF will be needed. Does anyone know the proper methods on converting a .PSD to a nice clean transparent .GIF. When I say transparent by the way, I mean w/o a backdrop. Thank you guys so much in advance.

all u do is merge the layers and delete the background and select the layer,copy,paste it on the GIF. back ground.But no offense,you do kinda go around boasting your skills when there are people better or just as good on here.No offense.

But really Echo, you need to not be so filter dependant, i've seen all your sigs, they all have filter dependancy (sp). Look at cryer's sigs, all of them are awesome but are still original.

Yo, don't get discouraged man. Photoshop isn't easy, and it takes SO long to get it down, if you can evere "get it down". As far as Sam and some others coming in here, there just giving constructive critiscm, especially Sam. It all goes to help in the long un. I strongly Urge you to check out www.ozoneasylum.com it's honelty the best graphic design and coding forums I have been to yet. The guys there are great. They are tough though, if you are going to start posting there, don't be cocky, and try everything before you ask how to do it. No offence dude but for someone soo full of himself its hard not to laugh or role my eyes when you don't even know the basics of a simple transparent gif. I'm not trying to bash here just suggest you change a few things.

Theres absolutly nothing wrong with asking for help. But you go around acting like your king of the world because you made some decent looking Sigs for a few people on AO. I'm really not trying to bash here but theres nothing spectacular or outstanding about them.

I have to agree with Shartly when he says the kiddies have stroked your ego quite a bit. I'm simply suggesting you tone down the Ego a bit, as there are still many things to learn and master in Photoshop before you can call yourself an expert. When you reach that level you won't have to tell people they will be able to see if for themselves.

I consider myself to be fairly advanced when it comes to Photoshop but I don't go around shoving it everyones faces or tell people that my work is the best. I suggest you do the same and you will get alot more respect and alot less gruff from people.

Keep up the work and don't give up, like stated above there are tons of tutorials on the internet just have to look around and most importantly practice and play around in PS as much as you can. Its the only way to get better and the best way to learn.

umm... im not sure if im remebering this correctly... but why are you asking us if "your mom is a professional web designer"

but, alas, i will tell you that if your entire site is going to be all one big flash movie then simply make the over/down keyframes also contain a transparent (alpha = x) instance of some symbol (if i remeber right it has to be a symbol to adjust properties like alpha, but im not quite sure) in the area you desire.

and you said transparent as without a backdrop... thats pretty easy if you dont want the entire w/e set at a low alpha because you just creat the text over th area in the over/down frames of the buttom (that is if you are using flash)

and i believe everyone else covered what needed to be said about p.s.
