HAHA I remember that too, I thought it was some kinda barrel shroud, not a freaking barrel! How the heck did those guys think it would work anyways? you magnatize it and it works like a railgun?!
I think the guy that showed up with the first protoype-ish batch or q loaders is working on improvements. I saw something in a recent magazine (facefull I think...the grey one with white grafitti text). And it looked MUCH different than the first models i've seen over the net, so I think that hes making a new run.
THe one i saw had q lader on the hopper part and a clear swoosh (black plastic).

I remember about 10 ~ 11 years ago there was supposed to be a football shaped paintball. It was supposed to fly straighter and guaranteed to break. They advertised special guns with clips. I don't know if they ever materialized.
I also remember paintballs with "fins" molded onto the back of them. I think they were called sniper balls. They had to be loaded in from the end of the barrel.

One of my local shops actually carried some of those Ramrods a few years ago. Funny stuff.
Some other things I remember (haven't been in paintball that long), some may still be around:
- Those football packs that you could carry.
- Double sliding triggers for Cockers.
- Sandridge electro Cocker conversions.
- Em1 (hahaha).
- BOA Barrels (woot, still got mine. But it's going to a friend.)
- Those Half Block Cockers.
