    Sharing connections to xbox

    i want to share my computers internet connection to my xbox. i have a wireless adapter that plugs into the pcmcia slot, and i bought the right cord to connect two computers together (special network cord).

    i have winxp
    my computer belongs to a network at school

    thats about all i know. so im asking how to share my computers connection to my xbox.


    edit- oh yea, do i need a xbox compatable wireless adapter to share?

    well.. easiest i can think of is a wireless router and wireless gaming thing...

    or you can just plug the xbox in.. i think...

    if i had a xbox or ps2 i would be able to help youman.. sorry...

      my router doesnt work with xbox. thats why i want to share my computer connection with my xbox.

          You either need a roater or take the ethernet cord from your computer and plug it directly into the xbox,but then you want be able to use the comp at the same time.

            Make sure you have a crossover cable, which is what I think you described, hook the two up.. Im assuming you have a laptop, becuase I think only they have PCMCIA..
            Go into control panel, network connections, network setup wizard, next, next, yes, doesnt matter type in random stuff, next, next, uhhhmmm I dunno if that will work or not.. but what you want is internet connection sharing.
            I dont think you need to really do anything but plug the xbox in, usually windows always shares the internet connection.
            Meh, I'm probally wrong. I find it easier to plug it into my router, go into the router settings and enable (under NAT on mine) port 8602 on TCP and UDP.. to find your computers ip go into Start, Run, ping (your computers name) and remember the IP. Open the ports up under virtual server and special applications. I dunno my router is probally alot different than yours, and port 8602 might just be for XBconnect, but thats what worked for me (thanks wes)
