    New X-Valve and airport "security"

    Long story -

So I picked up my new X-Valve(Thanks Tuna!) over x-mas and I bring it back home with me. It's kind of expensive so I bring it with me in my carry on. It's just the valve with no air source and nothing that even looks like a gun.

I go through security and they pull my bag and go directly to the pocket with the valve. I tell them it's parts for a paintball marker and she pops open the package to have a look. Apparently the sear looks like a sharp object, which I can understand. The guy next to her says it says "gun" on the package so it can't go. She looks a bit confused and she says she has to OK it with her supervisor. Again understandable. She wanders off and a minute later comes back and asks me if the rest of the gun is in there and I say no. She then tells me it's ok to go and proceeds to stuff it back into the pocket with lid open on the packaging I snap it shut put it in the pocket and zip it up. I don't even think about it again...Until I get home and unpack.

I get to the valve and I open it up. The little zip lock with all the Level 10 parts is missing. I seearch the pocket then the rest of my backpack. I remember seeing it when she took the sear out but I didn't even bother to check to see if everything was there when she started to stuff it back in the pocket.

Sigh. Just had to let off some steam about that. I know it's a hard job they're doing, I did it myself for a while.

Anyone selling a pack of Level 10 parts?

thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard they should have to buy u a new kit i mean what are u going to do the most you could do is throw it at someone and considering how light it is it probably wouldnt hurt that bad. its good that they do thourogh checks tho, but i mean unless its a gun or knife or something of that sort they should just let it go. i mean a little black thing hat says Xvalve ooh your a real terrorist now
    buy my gun!

With the insignificant cost of shipping, UPS is better than taking anything expensive on an airplane. I'm sure you've thought of that since, but sorry to hear about your trouble.

it would be weird if the guy took the parts because he needed a level 10 bolt kit for his level 10 bolt. Wierder stuff happens every day.
that is such a chipmunk mentality

              call the airline.

***** and moan. They should have a process for lost and damaged luggage that is teir fault. This may apply.

                  Airline

Kevmaster - I called and since it was carry-on luggage, it's not covered. Only checked. Also it wasn't the airline per se, it was the screeners.

joez - If you're sure you won't be needing them. I'd be happy to pay for them.

That sux. Kinda reminds me of my whole tank incident back in 2k2. It was a good thing I stood my ground cause they almost took my tank and fine me for putting it on board. I had to stand my ground and the supervisor finally checked the DOT number and listened to what I had to say and I convinced him that my tank wasn't gonna explode due to it's safeties, it's empty and it turn on for crying out loud so no pressure would build up.
                    Sorry, I'm old

I had a tank in a checked bag...the security guy ran on the plane from the back enterance came right to my seat and shouted "are you eric **********?!?!" I knew exactly what it was about. I explained everything to him and he eventualy allowed it. Everybody was looking at me the rest of the flight...it was so funny

Can't beleive you even bothered putting it in your carry on. If it's tough enough to be the main component of a paintball gun, it tough enough to be wrapped in socks and placed in checked bag.

                            why

with everything thay have said over the last two years about what to carry on a plane why would you even attempt. i am a police officer and unless i have a prisioner they dont allow us to even carry a pair of nail clippers on the plane and a few of the tsa screeners arent the smartest. and as far as value i check a springfield armory m1-a1 with a scope that alone is worth more than any xmag out there.
as for the tank thing they let you check a high pressure paintball tank
