i have winxp, ibm r31, 256 ram


i want to share my wireless connection on my laptop to my xbox. i have a wireless card that plugs into my pcmcia slot. i have a netgear mr314 router. i got the xbox to work with the router using port forwarding. i forwarded the ports 88 and 3074 to 192.168.0.2 (the ip of the xbox). the default DMZ server is also 192.168.0.2

first, i have no idea what the DMZ server is

so the xbox works hooked up to the router with a network cord. i went to radio shack and bought a crossover cable that works between the xbox and my comp. i pluged the cable into the xbox and the ethernet thing on my computer. then i shared the LAN connection in network connections. and in the settings in the LAN connection properties, there is a line with a checkbox next to it that says "Xbox (192.168.0.2:3074) 3074 UDP)

second, i have no idea what that is


i put a pic of the thing that comes up when i hit edit on the xbox line in the LAN properties.

please help

If you want to hook it up to a wireless connection, you're going to need a wireless bridge. I think they usually run about $100.

Have you tried my link that I posted on your previous thread? Having an IP in the DMZ leaves it open to the outside. Why are you going through your laptop when you got xbox to work with your router? Connecting to your laptop will require your laptop be to on when playing online. Just hookup xbox straight to your router. Make sure that xbox is set to recieve dynamic IP. Do a search for "xbox network connection" in yahoo for google. Here's a link for yahoo search.
