    I just rented Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo for the first time... GREAT MOVIE!!

          Actually Issac Aismov's Foundation series inspired Star Wars and many other books and movies. Im just bored and thought I should add that.
          It came to a point in my life when it was either pay the rent or buy paintball gear. I think I made the wise choice. If anyoneone needs me I'm livin in a van down by the river.

              Star Wars is based off Joseph Campbell's theories on the nature of myth and the hero's journey throughout human existence.

              The entire plot from Star Wars is drawn from Campbell's work. Lucas and Campbell were friends.

              Tons of movies follow the same concept, because as Campbell pointed out, any hero's life journey follows certain steps. Humans somehow have a hardwired idea of what a hero should be, how he should be created, and whatnot. Rarely will heros in books, movies, or stories stray from what Campbell outlined as the Hero's Journey.
