Late night deep thoughts: movie epiphany

Anyone notice that when you go to a movie at a theater you always ask "What did you see?". When someone rents a movie or catches one on TV it's "What did you watch?". So why does the same act take on two different forms?

Or is this just a crazy Okie anomaly?
There's all kind of songs about babies and love gone right, but for some unknown reason nobody wants to play them tonight.

I guess i just always figured that when you go to a movie you are actually leaving your house to go "see" something. When a movie is on tv, you normally just sit down and "watch" it. Therefore "seeing" to me is the act of leaving your house and going to the theatre in order to view a movie. Was that confusing enough?!

That was kind of what we came up with too. DOesn't make a ton of sense to me but oh well I may start switching them up to screw with people.
