I love them. They were a part of my growing up.
They are one of the great Metal bands alongside Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Metallica.
I would have loved to see them live but I never got the chance, and I can't make it to Hammerstein on Saturday.
Bruce Dickinson left the band for an album or two, but he is back singing with the band now, right?
Good luck selling the ticket, and I hope you enjoy the show!

Yea, Bruce is back. I can't wait to go, although I'll admit, I only started listening to them since I heard "Two Minutes to Midnight" on Vrock in GTA: Vice City.

wow!! i grew up listening to this band. Seen them in concert over a dozen times.
There are still some real fanatics out there. I sold one drum stick stamped "Nicko Boomer Mcbrain" for $150 bucks i got from a concert in Milwaukee.

Next up on the chopping block are possibly all my old LP's from them Powerslave, Killers, Number of the Beast,Piece of Mind, Iron Maiden, etc etc. Signed ticket stub from STeve Harris from an Alpine Valley concert

Enjoy the show, they really pour it on.

              So, how'd everything turn out?
Did you end up selling the ticket and get in to see the show?
              If so, how was it?

I sold the ticket to a guy at ironmaiden.org he paypaled the money and I had it FedEx to him overnight. Easiest and shortest transaction I've ever done.
After going to the opening day of PBX Battlezone, myself and two friends took the train into NYC where we had a quick bite and then looked for Hammerstein. Found it, and froze our *** off for about an hour and a half in about 17 degree weather. We finally got in and bought concet t-shirts. They were $30. I thought I was in Abercrombie for a second. Anyway, we get up to the first balcony, and wait for the show to start.
After about an hour, you hear some thundering guitar and some blue lights flashing in unison with the guitar. This was Arch Enemy, the opening band. Then the lights come on, and two guitarists a bassist and a drummer are on stage rocking like crazy. Then this really hot chick comes out and starts with the deepest, crazy vocals you've ever heard. I couldn't understand one word. My friends and I look at each other and mouth "wtf"? I tried to get into the music, but I couldn't. I don't like music where I can't understand the words. Anyway, she talks inbetween songs, and the only thing I can pick up is that she likes the f word and that they're from Sweden. Explains the unintelligible lyrics, and the band. Sweden has crazy metal. Later, when I'm home, and I check out the band's lyrics, they were in English. haha, you can imagine my surprise.
Finally, after 45 minutes of THAT, there's a short break, and Maiden comes on. It rocked. There's no other way to say it. Highlights were Paschendale, they put up some barbed wire and stuff and Bruce comes out in a WWI uniform. Also, Fear of the Dark was amazing. at about 10:30, during I forget which song, you hear this pop. And then some more. They leave the stage, and Bruce explains that "some dickhead threw beer on the console, and we're trying to fix it, so hold tight." They come back a few minutes later and say there's nothing they can do. I was soo pissed off. One idiot ruined it for everyone. I looked at the set list and I missed Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast, two of my favorites. We also missed a big Eddie fighting with one of the guitarists or something. I am still pissed. I'm trying to see if I can go Monday or Tuesday, but I doubt it.

I love Iron Maiden! That sounds awesome. I have Bruce's "Scream for me Brazil" live album, and it sounds so much fun. I like Bruce Dickinson a bit better than Maiden though - "Chemical Wedding" is my favourite song.

You all prolly know this but...

Bruce D. is a commercial pilot. He flies for Lufthansa or somebody like that. I wanna go somewhere he flies just so I can meet him. Iron Maiden are so swell.

All I can say is, that sucks. It sounds like a great show got interrupted.
I hope you get to go again.

It sounds like the band with the chick was Arch Enemy. Is that right? They are great!

I saw Maiden at the roskilde festival in denmark this summer. I can just say that they ROCKED! I'm just sorry that I missed them here in Gothenburg this autumn...
