What can I clean my laptop screen with?

My laptop screen has a ton of smudges on it, and its getting really annoying. Someone told me not to use any type of cleaning solution on it cause it could ruin the screen. True?

Go to your local computer store, they should have these handywipes kinda thing, they work very well. If they don't have them, ask where you could buy them. You REALLY want to make sure you're using the right fabric or cleaner, otherwise you can just end up streaking or worse, scratching.

make sure you rub it very gently or you can rub off the anti glare coating.

I do this at work EVERYDAY on the laptops we have in out labs.

              Take a SOFT terricloth<SP> washcloth.
Dampen it with some ISOPROPYL alcohol.
Gently wipe the screen in one direction.
Do this in rows along the screen until the whole thing is clean and clear.

I got this directly from Dell's website, so it MUST be true!

Personally, I don't trust the alcohol based products, so I usually just use a damp (not wet) towel.
