    High Speed Internet HELP!! Cox vs. Comcast

    Im looking to get high speed internet but im not sure about a few things. First off, Qwest and verizon are not available here so they are out of the question.

    It looks like its coming down to Cox and Comcast. I've gotten plenty of info on Cox but more would be helpful. I dont know alot about Comcast. If u have info on either of these, particularly Comcast, I would appreciate it.

      Alot of it depends on where you live.

      Comcast cable is ok. You get 256kbps upload and about 1.5Mbps down.

      The one good thing is that you do get a free subscription to what is actually a private-pay-for-use newserver that gives you about a gigabyte of download each month. [Yes, I realize a gigabyte isn't much, but it is enough to fill parts on newsgroups, from other free servers]

          not sure where your located but look into mediacom
          i just got a email from them today they are raising there
          speed to 3.0mbps at no extra cost.
