    Che Guevara

i have been reading all about him on the internet and i am confused about everthing.

was he just a propargana figure for fidel castro or was he really trying to create a better world for his people?

and what did he do? did he fight for the revolution? was he a political figure?

help me, i am so confused.

He was a doctor turned revolutionary that joined up with Cuban exiles in Mexico in the mid 1950's. He became Fidel Castro's chief liutenant in 1956 after the rebel invasion of Cuba. When Castro took power, he served as the Minister of Industry from 1961 to 1965. He left the position in 1965 and became an insurgent in Bolivia. In 1967 he was found by Bolivian forces and was killed.

CIA told the Bolivian guard NOT to kill him but they did so anyway. Shot him some 17 times in the chest while he was strapped to an interrogation chair.

This part is debated, I've heard many times that it was a CIA agent that killed him.
They shot him in the chest because they wanted it to look like a combat death rather than an execution.

If you define it as textual evidence then I don't imagine you had proof either.

Poolshark, I'm interested in this guy too so don't think i'm arguing with you.

How would they make it look like a combat death? I had been taught that he had bad asthma since he was a child often collapsing from it. After an attack in Bolivia him and his "gang" was running from the Bolivian guard when he collapsed from a bad asthma attack. The guard picked him up and interrogated him then executed him.

This is just what I've learned. I imagine there's tons of other theories out there and I'd like to hear more of them.

MiniMag, as I understand it, his...I guess squad would be a good way to describe it...was ambushed with aid from the CIA (intelligence info I guess), he was shot several times (I think, too lazy to do research right now) and the remainder of his group was captured. Che was interigated by Bolivian agents as well as CIA. He was then shot in the chest to make it look like combat wounds, rather than execution (you would execute someone with a shot to the head I would think, the surest way to do it)...execution would probably imply that te CIA and therefor the United States government partakes in the execution of foriegn leaders...or something. After the execution, a wax mask was made of his face and his hands were cut off, to provide proof it was really Che that they killed.
