Al Franken - Defender of the Freedom of Speech

    Article

So, Al Fraken decided that because someone was excercising their freedom of speech that they should be beat up.

Do we still have to pretend that this is a man that has to be taken seriously?
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

LOL... A true contradiction in reaction is it not? I dunno...

You should go to the Protest Warriors site and see the march on the Washington Anti War rally video they took. Unbelievable really what all happens. It's worth a visit really. What I love is how hostile people are to a simple question. I mean just dam nasty rather than an intelligent rebuttle.

I mean people want freedom of speach but often they just want freedom of THEIR speach. At some point freedom of speach steps across a line of freedom of someone else to have his TIME to speak though. These protestors in Al's case did that. But heck you cannot attack people bodily for that! That makes you as wrong as they are! Sheesh.... My my....

      never heard of him.

Funny how *some people* love to protect our freedom of speech by taking it away from us...

I hope he gets nailed for assault and battery, like anyone else would. Trying to pass himself off as Captain Freedom or whatever is just pathetic.

I hope Bob Novak gets nailed for treason, or at least assault.

Novak savagely attacks onlooker at New Hampshire Primaries.

Funny, and he's a good guy, but it was a tad hypocrytical.

Lies and the lying liars who tell them is probably one of my favorite books.

Probably more reputable than the Times of India.

And I hate anyone as hypocritical as Al Franken.

I did enjoy his books, and I do agree with him on a lot of issues, but after that Saturday Night Live skit where he is the guy with the motivational TV show I can't bring myself to taking him seriously.

Well you shouldn't take him seriously. I mean what has he ever done in his life to make him a expert to be listened to or looked up to? Nuttin! Nadda!

Good point Postal. Not the most reliable source at all. I agree. However most sources seem to agree on the basic facts that Al did do the agressive move on the guy. And that one seems to be trying to present it "Franken Friendly". What ya want to bet he gets sued?

You could argue this one either way, IMO. Frome Franken's POV, he was protecting the candidate's right to speak without interruption. For the guy he tackled... isn't heckling a of Free Speech?

Is free speech "Anybody can say what they want, but Anybody else is allowed to shout them down"? I don't think so, because then you'd never hear anything except the opinion the majority already favours.
