What kind of Digital Camera do you Have??

I am looking to get a digital camera after Christmas and was wondering what everyone has. It would be very helpful to other and myself if everyone with a digital camera could post a picture, and then tell us brand name and such.

    How about this

    Brand:
    Model:
    Positives:
    Negatives:
    Picture:

    Example
    Pos: takes great pictures outdoors
Neg: takes bad close up pictures
    You get the idea

Thanks A lot everyone, this has a potential to be a great post!

    Brand: Kodak
    Model: DC215
Positives: Good close up pics. Easy to use.
Negatives: Highest resolution isn't all that great (1152x864) Doesn't have USB connection.
Other notes: If the camera takes standard batteries, GET NiMH rechargeables. They will eat batteries in a matter of minutes if you're using the LCD screen often. Memory cards for digi cams are cheap. I just got a 128MB CF card, which will hold 951 pictures in 640x480 resolution for $60. If your camera doesn't have a USB connection, you can get a little USB box that you plug the CF or SM card into and then send it USB. MUCH faster than serial.

Picture: Here's a good up close picture I took with my camera in 640x480

      Brand: Canon
      Model: Elph
Postives: Small, comes with special battery that has decent life, pictures are huge (500K +), USB port, and good software interface.
Negatives: comes with a small memory card, flash eats the battery quickly, it's small so the veiw screen is also small

check my sig for some of the pictures I've taken with it, but note that they had to be seriously shrunk to upload easily.

          Brand: Canon
          Model: Powershot A20
Positives: 2.1 Megapixels, 1600 x 1200 max resolution, decent battery life on four 'AA's Optical Zoom!
Negatives: USB connection drains batteries, and the software is really bad. No matter what camera you get, just get a compact flash card reader for 30 bucks and save yourself the grief of connecting it.

          WARNING
This is a high quality image at 1600x1200. It's 852KB. Just making sure I don't hear anyone complain that they're on dial up.

Photographyreview.com has all kinds of info on just about any camera you'd expect to find. you might check them out. The reviews are mostly written by people who work in the photography feild. Very useful site when camera shopping.

I took one of the other side at the same time, I'll upload it when I get home. I can take a few more images too. Maybe ones I actually plan this time, instead of just tossing my gun down and taking a few shots.

Like I said, that one is at 1600x1200 and low compression, but the camera supports any combination of 800x600, 1024x768, and 1600x1200 with High, Medium, or Low compression. With my 32MB Flash card I can get about 30 16x12 Low compression images before filling up. My only real complaint about the camera is the really crappy software Canon bundled with it.

                  Olympus

                  Brand: Olympus
                  Model: 460Z(1.3mega pixel)
Positives: Real slick, love the on/off method(open shutter), good zoom, decent pic quality
Negatives: none really, low light isnt as good as the previous model, its over a year old now...which means ancient
                  Picture: checkout members.home.com/fenris69
the first three pics were taken with the camera..not the greatest shots but you get the idea at high res. good macro shots on high zoom tho.

Id have a look at what olympus is offering now, theyre decently priced for what you get, good quality, and decent warrranty. shop around tho, if your buying new checkout cnet.com for price comparison on any large retailers.

                    fenris,
It's a good thing no one cares about this thread, there'd be too many comments about that first pic.

                            Brand: Sony
                            Model: Cybershot something
Positives: Shoots really really good pictures. Any time of day, any distance. Sony makes really quality products. (the agd of electronics) It also fits all of the lenses that I have for my video camera... so I get to have fun like that too. The lcd flips over so you don't break it in your backpack, too.
Negatives: Sony stuff isn't cheap, and as soon as you buy it, they come out with a better one.
