Theres a local place that a couple f my friends go to called LANarchy(I think). Apparently, you can pay like $20 and stay there all night. And usually they opder a bunch of pizzas and stuff. All top of the line Alienwares and all the new games and stuff. I gotta go one day...

Hehe no need for a gaming cafe:

        Dual 2.8 Xeon Processors
        2GB RDRAM
        800GB in harddrives

However, I do want to play at one of them though.

I bet that if they opened up something like that around here, within walking distance of the majority of the town, it would surge with people. Man, that would be awesome to stay at all night.

Not really, it just allows me to keep apps running in the background while still having one processor putting most of it's work into the game.

Stay at all night? I remember a few years back, there was an article about some guy in Korea who died staying in one of those. They found him the next morning dead on the keyboard next to his food he usually orders to eat while he plays.

Back around 96 or 97 a co-worker and myself wrote up business plans for a computer gaming cafe. At that time this was a pretty new idea and I actually didn't know of any in existance (though I am sure there were). I was never a gamer, but a lot of my friends were. They use to get together every weekend, lug their PCs to another friends house and play games. Me not being the gamer, I thought this was a really crazy idea...I mean we are talking 19" monitors here This is when me and a co-worker came up with the idea. We did everything shy of actually going to the bank and trying to get a loan. By that time we were too busy at work and there was no way would could have run this. So there the business plan sits....anyone want it?

What kind of vid card though? And what do you need that much space for, archival stuff or something? Also the guy who died at one of those cybercafes in Asia stayed there for like 5 days playing starcraft I think, died of dehydration or something like that.

We've got one, it's about a block away from the high school. I was really into it a couple years ago, it was like $3 an hour and during peak times (right after school, weekends) it would always be full. 2 dozen computers. And I'm sure it's only grown since then.

Actually, come to think of it, one just opened up at the mall, too. Including X-boxes and ps2s and leather chairs and the works, looks really nice. We've got soooo many computer geek gamer-types around here, I'm sure they'll both stay open for years to come.
