Partly yes. I think I'm ready to upgrade to CNC. I wasn't sure how to cut an angle on the face of a work peace without changing the angle of the head. I figure, if I go CNC I don't want to limit myself....

Almost failed my senior project a couple years back trying to keep to a one setup program. After three weeks of beating my head against the keyboard I mounted a second fixture to the bed.
Ramping a ball end mill works for small angles, takes a while but coding its easy.

Not any more, got a two year in CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing Technology)
Fun stuff, robotics, PLC programing, CNC.
Then I fell into a civil engineering job, now I'm working for my PE license. Designing roads and subdivisions is no where near as fun but it pays the bills.

Yup, just a hobby for me. I've got a Enco benchtop and a 9x12 lathe. Picked up plans for a CNC conversion for the mill but I doubt I'll get to that anytime soon
