I have been having a problem with my comp restarting. It will just restart for no reason. Usually it takes awhile but it happens quicker when I am playing Bfield 1942. Is something overheating? Is it a glitch in the software? When Windows XP comes back up it gives me one of those send an error report notices.

Whoa slow down the error messaging within Windows XP is very in depth, it tells you in plainish english (unlike previous vesions of windows) what the error was so what is the error message, click on all the tell me more links etc and then it will point to where you are at. Best guess is you have old graphics card drivers and you need the later ones...bet when you find the drivers you will find that you probably can't install them until you install service pack 1.Originally posted by 845

Ok but what was the error message it will tell you if it graphics card or cd rom or minidump or whatever.....what you are saying so far is my computer crashed gave me an error message so what is wrong...we aren't at your computer so we can't read the error message, this is the first place to start.Originally posted by 845
I updated the drivers and that wasnt the problem.Comment

Ok getting somewhere...not anywhere particually quick but did you have a code error on any of the boxes as what you have at the moment is a basically what wondows has created due to the crash not what caused it...the second line of code you gave is a location of where the info you were working on has been saved. I had a graphics card lock up and the error message was quite clear that my graphics card had stopped responding plus all the minidump and xml info...it may not be the graphics card but when you consider you are playing a very graphics intense program that is one place to look plus how much ram are you running as the pc could be just running out of memory and what do you have runing in the background when you are playing the game..are you on a network connected to the net are you playing online even...sorry for all the questions but it might be a real simple solution but the info is needed..oh and give me the spec of the machine...not interested in the cd roms just the processor/HD/RAM oh and how full are the HD's
Actually this is getting a little long winded so it is becoming a chat thread so drop me a pm with your MSN messenger name or AIM nameComment
