Japan bans pork, alcohol for troops in Iraq, urges mustache growing

The men have mustaches and the women cover their hair with headscarves. Alcohol is banned on their base, and pork-eating is off-limits.

The Japanese troops headed to Iraq have their orders: blend in with the locals.

Tokyo this week began sending ground troops for a humanitarian mission in Iraq. With concerns high at home that the soldiers will be targeted for attack, military leaders are urging their ranks to be as inconspicuous as possible.

Some how I think that the guns and cammo and helmets ect. will not help them to "blend in". Anywho, those japs are pretty nasty if you get em mad, oh wait we know first hand cause we droped two A-bombs on them. Man do I hate wars and crap. Sorry if i come off as non-patriotic, I really do love the united states and all that.

japan is a completely different country than it used to be so dont expect past history to shine through in any major fashion. and its been a while since we called em japs...

I see nothing wrong with that. The purpose of our occupation in Iraq is to liberate the people and make it a safe place once again. Keeping it cool with the locals is just one more thing that we(and everyone else there) should be doing.

yes,as we all know camo makes you invisible but the iraqi's dont have our kind of cammo. thats why they would stick out, because that is one major difference......It's fun being me.

for pearl harbor they were attacking our millitary outpost on hawaii(sp) and as far as I know (keep in mind im a moron) We just bombed two of their most military strengthed cities but still had many, many, innocent people in the blast radius. correct me if i am wrong. and yea, i think we are all walking on thin ice with this topic so lets try to refrain from the old crap and talk about how the japanese (see i didnt say "jap") are trying to blend in in iraq. makes sense and im sure it must have some soothing aspect to the people there.

btw you cant really compare japan in 1945 to todays we changed their culture a lot while we occupied them
