Well, I haven't had my tonsils out (yet hopefully) but I have had my adniods out, whichI was told is a very similiar procedure, just takes slightly less time. After I got over the amnesia (however you spell that stuff) I just ate pudding and jello, which felt very good on my throat. After about a week I was totally back to normal, which is kinda annoying becuase I had the opperation to allow me to breath through my nose, but it didn't work lol

No, but seriously- best of luck with your oldest's surgery. My mom had her tonsils removed, and otherwise i dunno much about it.

Sorry, but I have utterly no clue what sleep apnea is.

I just have never been able to breath out of my nose and take real full breaths, so my mom (doctor) is trying to find ways to fix this. An ears, nose, and mouth doctor thought that taking the adnoids out would fix it, but it didn't, so back to the drawing board.

Scott- If it's this sunday, not only will I be there, but You and your son have a case of paint on me to play with all day.

AND- if I know what time, we'll make it like it was his birthday- the biggest paintball bash for him EVER.

He'll be more excited about the paintball than he will be worried about the tonsils.

I had mine out when I was in 2nd grade(about 7 or 8) for the Sleep Apnea or w/e(where you stop breathing when you sleep). It's no that bad. Just lots of ice creme and jell-o and they gave me alot of Gatorade. It wasn't really that bad, plus I have had a great belching ability ever sense .

Something happened with mine, and I had to go back to to hospital a few days later cause it broke open or something and puked up a bucket(literally) of blood, but you probobly don't want to hear about that...

yeah just be light about it, i cant really compare my surgery to this because i had a screw put into my leg a week after all the bones in my left leg from my knee down were broken (lets just say becareful when you sled, your going alot faster then you think) and i had to get a pin screw put in my leg, id assume that my operation probably hurt considerably more because of the bone drilling (anytime those two words are used in a sentence it means pain) but just joke a bit about, its alot easier that way not to think about it, and id go for the gas to go to sleep just cause its a crazy experience ( i would do just gas if i got the chance )

FYI- Sunday is team practice day, and 1:00 will be right towards the end of it. If you get to us around 2-2:30, we'll be ending the first session and starting the cleanup. That'd be a great time for your son to come by and do the cake & pizza, as the team practice in the morning can get somewhat... hardcore. And around 4:30-5:00, the next session starts and we get lots of walk-on kids.
