      bout time someone gets to see whats in there. linux and all other vairants have been open source all along.

      my favorite quote in regards to the battle of the OS's is:

        it means anyone can look at how each OS was written (source code)..with that code, anyone can now exploit the crap out of them, which may lead to a whole new race of virii..

        btw: this hasn't been completely confirmed yet, so there's still hope that it didn't actually happen..but it's looking pretty grim.

            But (if this turns out to be legit) this could open up the door to lots of new ways to go about making viruses and worms and such, ways that hadn't been considered before. And since most of the computing world runs off of Windows, that will only fuel even more the development of exploits.

              Because 90%(or more) of users use Windows. Why write a virus that is only going to affect a small percentage of the population.
