    which operating system are you using?

    if you are using windows 98/me/95/ or any of the old ones:

    youll have to make a boot disk, boot into dos, and reformat that way. go to control panel, open add/remove progs, click on the last tab, put in a floppy disk and it will make the disk. restart the comp when done with the disk in the drive, and dos will boot. when it asks if you want to boot with cdrom support, put yes. when it get to the part where you can type, put in:

    format c: /q

    after its done formating, itll ask for a label, just hit enter. then type d:\setup then install windows

    if you have windows xp:

    put in your winxp cd and restart the comp. when it asks if you wanna boot from cdrom, select yes. follow the instructions to reinstall windows, when it asks if you wanna reformat, select yes.

    if you have any questions, just ask, i did a quick response, i have to go out on patrol soon

      If you are running XP you can do

      start=>run=>mmc=>Disk Management ..

      Select the disk you wish to reformat and right click=>format ...

      I am assuming you arent talking about the main disk/main partition (hda1) ... if so then you can always use the OS disk itself which will give you the option for a full disk partition before installing again.

        Well, it looks like you already got help, but formatting was something I did more than anything with my old crappy computer I would constantly have to format it... it really sucks, especially when you constantly lost all your drivers
