    Computer Help

I just got my new computer setup yesterday, and I already have a problem, so I am calling on AO.

My computer decides to randomly restart(I have Windows XP). I have Run Nortons and I haven't found any viruses, and it isn't my CPU overheating either.

When I send the error report, it says something about a error in the drivers. But this was happening before I installed any hardware. And the only hardware I have installed since then is my USB cable modem.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

hhmmm it could be the blaster virus if windows was not updated as well as yoru virus protection when you bought the pc. try to go to symantec.com or norton.com and search for teh blaster virus fix. it is free and a very small file. there have also been about 10 new viruses realeased with the past few weeks, so it could possibly one of those. good luck.

uhh first, right click my computer>properties>advanced>startup and recovery

check if under system failure you have the box checked for "automatically restart."

also, like the other guy said, make sure you got a firewall up first off..and make sure you update immediately after going online with the thing. i'd suggest not going online w/ the thing at all until you see that it runs smoothly.
