Well, unless you're one of the Star Wars "Purists", this ain't so great news. I read somewhere that there is already a petition online with about 50,000 sigs that people are demanding the original theatrical release. I personally could care less. It's just funny that George Lucas himself detests the original releases and only aknowledges the Special Edition ones.

Hehe... I dunno why he detests certain things about the old ones simply because of that. With all the computer technology and what not, the new trilogy (so far) sucks compared to the original.

i think that cleaning stuff up and enhancing certain special effects was fine. but when he started adding and *gasp* changing things that was going too far. making the speeders look like they're really hovering, sticking moving people inside the cockpits of the xwings: good. putting in a big song and dance in jabba the hutt's palace, making han shoot second: bad.
