Even though I am a "member" of a "minority" race, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. There are scholarships for being black, brown, purple, etc....so it's only logical that there should be one for being white.

Mattera, who is of Puerto Rican descent, is himself is a recipient of a $5,000 scholarship open only to a minority group.

well the crap has already hit the fan on this one. people are debating on the idea of the scholarship already. i am all for this one, i hope others follow this scholarship!! i have asked some "minority" friends i hae about this and they are all fine with it. they get money for being a "minority" also, so they thought it was great.

Ive got the perfect setup. Im half mexican half irish. So I get school grants to help me in college since they are trying to help minorities in college. I dont hink its the best idea but hey my family cant pay for me to go to school so why not, but here in a couple years white people are going to be the minority so if im still in school ill get money to be white in college.

Or you can spin it another way. He got a scholarship based on race, then set one up to help the only race that doesn't get them.
