                  why is it that when I try again, some of the number/symbol combinations change and some dont. ie number 22 stayed, number 18 changed. I pressed try again twice and it happened both times.

                      So far I've figured out how it dramatically reduces the possible choices, but I still can't figure it all out.

                      99-(9+9)= 81
                      98-(9+8)= 81
                      97-(9+7)= 81

                      45-(4+5)= 36
                      44-(4+4)= 36

                      etc...

                      Hmm, I just picked 12 (12-(1+2)=9) and it got it right, then I picked 15 (15-(1+5)=9) and it got it wrong...

                      Maybe it really isn't reading my mind.

                          heres a clue how to figure it out.


                          choose your number, look at the symbol. Then without hitting the circle choose ANOTHER number and look at that symbol. do it again, and again. Notice a pattern?

                              Glancing at it quickly, it appears to always be a multiple of 9... 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 etc... Therefore all multiples of nine have the same symbol and the thing can never be wrong. It changes the symbol each time to throw you off.
