my computer thinks it has a 3rd drive

ok..for some reason my computer has listed

    floppy (A: )
    hd 1 (C: )
    dvd drive (D: )
    cdrw drive (E: )
    hd2 (F: )
    dvd drive (G: )

all exist except G:...there is no third drive...why does it think there's one there? i uninstalled the thing in device manager but after rebooting it returned. nothing special has been done to the computer so that isn't the answer...

Maybe there are two partitions set up on your single drive.... Try to actually put something on the second and drive and see what happens.

i have two hard drives...i don't have two dvd drives...so it isn't a partition problem.

Alchohol makes you're computer think it has an extra drive so that if you download a game or program as an image(.iso,.ccd,.bin,etc) you can play it as if its a cd in that cd rom drive, without burning it. It's quite useful, and doesn't do any harm.

By "mounting" the image to the "vitual cd rom" in alchohol.

Then you just double click on it in my computer.
