I KNEW 1stdeadeye would post something about this...

I also know that you are breathing a sigh of relief since you were so scared at the whooping your boy was going to take without a spoiler like Nader (Gore would have won without Nader screwing him).

I got bad news for you 1de...you are STILL going to have to buy me that barrel condom and ship it to me. Anyone who voted for Nader last time isn't going to vote for him this time. They have seen, "compassionate conservatism" and decided four years is enough of this BS.

Before people bought Nader's rhetoric about, "the two parties are essentially the same." Now people see that it is total BS. The Republican party for Oregon used to be a very progressive party. Fiscal conservatives, but socially liberal. Now nationally and state wide the neo cons have taken control of it - and it has to GO!!! They can come back to the people with their hat in their hand when they have redefined themselves....

eh..the two parties ARE essentially the same...but it's really dumb to vote third party, especially if the candidate leans to your side of the spectrum...

        Ahh... my voting philosophy

        ABC

Anyone But Clinton, I don't care

NOw, for those of who you are going to flame me, I have acknowledged, several times that Bill Clinton was one of the more successful politicians of recent memory, and accomplished many things, some of which I did not like. He managed to keep us from, umm going to nuclear war with some stupid country with its head up its... and that in itself is an accomplishmetn for any president. I mean think about it, if some jerk pissed you off in negotiations and you had that little red theoretical button...

I simply don't see how anyone can have ANY respect for Ralph Nader. He makes no effort to come across as a serious candidate (the way he dresses and speaks? COME ON!). I hope he fails to get on the ballot.

Honestly, when I heard that a couple of my friends voted for Nader, I laughed in their faces. Way to throw you vote away! How about ya just don't vote.

I don't get it...the far left, by voting for Nader, basically gave GWB the edge he needed to win in 2000. Now they are gonna do it again!? BWAHAHAH

Im sorry all of you Green party hippy types, your vote doesnt count, so stay home on election day.

That is what people said about Perot.

Kerry is as far to the left as Nadar. He is going to get smoked like a doobie. Might as well order Newt and I those BCs now.

Unfortunately, this country is badly in need of legitimate 3rd and 4th parties.

I'll be voting for Bush because I'm not a socialist, but I'd like to have another choice that stood a chance of winning.

I agree with the War on Terror. I agree with Gulf War II (but not for the reasons outlined by our president). I always agree with tax cuts and would like to see some more.

What I don't agree with is record deficit spending and a 500 billion dollar entitlement program for seniors. I don't agree with a guest worker program to artificial keep wages down. I don't agree with no child left behind.

I split with Mr. Bush on almost all of his domestic policies. But he is my only option because my other choices are even worse. Tax hikes. Universal health care (socializing one of the biggest industries in the country). Weak foreign policy. It goes on.

Well, at least we're going to Mars. People think it's not worth the money, but we're going to need the space sooner than you think. Besides, I'm a sci-fi geek from way back. I'd stand in bread lines if I got to do it on Mars.

I dont see why all you bush fans are so happy...his approval rating is at an all time low (46 percent or so and declining). Plus he keeps on digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole. Stupid proposals like sending us back to the moon, that would cost us hundreds of billions of dollars which we dont have. The US is so high in debt that I cant even pronounce the amount. With Bush's x-advisor Oniel coming out and saying that he had plans to invade Iraq from day 1 in office just goes to show what an unhonest fellow he is. Enduring freedom my ***. How about Enduring oilfields. My heart goes out to our innocent soldiers that were manipulated and lost their lives for this false cause. God I hope we get that retard out of office.

I just feel sorry for the people who swallow the rhetoric and talking points of either side.

                    "War for Oil"

People really need to let this go. It's to silly to bother arguing with. So much so that it makes you wonder if the people who spout it actually believe it (AKA idiots), or if it is just useful rhetoric to rally idiots to their side.

Lets get some things straight. Was the war in Iraq set in motion before 9.11? Yes.

Cheney, Rumsfeld, and others on both sides of the fence had been pushing for a resumption of hostilities against Saddam throughout the eight years of the Clinton administration. This is a documented fact.

The intelligence then, and at the onset of the war said WMDs existed in Iraq. Clinton and a number of high ranking dems made public statements to that ends. Is it any surprise that with a republican in office, these things would fall on less deaf ears.

Is the war in Iraq a valid battle in the War on terror? Yes.

The fact is that killing the terrorists will never put a stop to terrorism. The governments of the mid east have used government controlled media for years to turn the discontent of their people towards Israel and the west. These people are living in squalor under monarchies and dictatorial regimes. The rightful cause of their suffering is not us, but their own governments.

As long as life is so miserable that people are willing to die for change, we will have a problem. If a man has money in his pocket, a roof over his head, and hope for the future, he's not blowing himself up for any religion.

So why a war instead of aid? Because aid gets gobbled up by those who need it least. The only way to truly help people is by empowering them to help themselves. Nothing does that like democracy and the free market.

So we get two for the price of one. Get rid of a hostile regime, and create a working model of democracy in the middle east.

Is it a gamble? Yes, it could fail. But... If it works, the lives we will have saved will more than worth the cost.

That is the argument Bush should have made. He based the war on WMD and now he's paying the price for it.

"Billions on going back to the Moon"

I wonder if anyone has ever heard of the population time bomb. The need for the space and natural resources of our solar system isn't sci-fi anymore.

also, the U.S. has been in debt since the Revolutionary War. when someone mentions that the U.S. is in debt and that we shouldn't do this-and-that b/c of it, I laugh. We were trillions in debt in the middle of last century. I don't think we're any more in debt then as we are now relatively speaking.

Besides, I wholeheartedly support this push to space. Why? B/c it's good for JOBS! What do we want in this country? MORE JOBS. A push to space would get the big folks like Boeing, Lockhead, Honneywell, Raytheon, etc. to get up and get in gear. That means more jobs for engineers and general workmen. It'll mean pilots will be needed.

This is a good thing, as the Engineering job market has been in a slump that last several years. I want a good job when I graduate from college. This push for space will ensure that I have a good pick, and will also have companies grabbing for me since EE's have always been in demand and will be in demand even more so.

Anyone who thinks the renewed space program is bad is not looking at what this MEANS for America. it means more jobs, more GOOD JOBS, solid careers. it means more scientific research, it means more possible solutions to things, etc.

Space exploration has ALWAYS been a good thing for us. It will be no different here.
