    I-Pods...

    Hey guys,
I am looking into getting an i-pod and I was wondering what everyone thought of them? Do you think the 20g is worth the extra $100? I won't have tons of music but the extras that come with it (cradle, remote, etc..) would be nice. So does anyone have one and can anyone find me a semi-cheap price on the 5g-10g models? Thanks!

PS: If anyone has one f/s used please contact me.

Let me just say that before someone comes in and says don't get one because of the battery/warranty issues, you CAN replace the battery, it just takes some tinkering. That shouldn't be a problem given the main focus of this forum.

I dont know if this will help, but my sister has one. I havent used it a lot, but she loves it... and in my oppinion its the best mp3 type player available. Its very convenient when you dont wanna carry around a lot of CD's. Easy to operate as well.

Go with the 20GB. The extras and the 10GB are worth the $100. I bought one for my wife.

        Coolest thing ever made.

What about the Mini? It is only $250 and it holds roughly 1000 songs (85 cd's). I think i'm gonna pick up a silver mini, b/c i dont have anywhere near 85 cd's now...but there's always the future.

The mini is cool because its flash. No moving parts. That's better if you plan to dance a lot

You can always keep you entire CD collection on you computer in I-Tunes, and put you favorite 1000 songs on the I-Pod.

my friend has the 30 gig and i have no idea why. you can only listen to so much music.. lol

he has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of albums and he has filled up a minut space on the ipod.

if i were to get one, id get the 5 gig, and buy a head unit for the car so it would work in the car.. you see where i am goin ? :]

                  An advantage to larger I-pods

Can't you also use the I-pod for file storage and transfers?

In that case a larger one could be very handy.

I am not sure. If they did connect VIA usb ports that would be quite cool. But still 30 gigs worth. I can keep probably every one of my school files since 1st grade (if i used a pc in 1st grade) on a 5 gig i pod w/o all the music. I would say at most a 10 gig should suit you and other types of data if applicable.

Yes, through a firewire or USB connection. The firewire is cool because it also charges the I-Pod.

If it were me, I'd go for the 30 GB one. You can find really good ones on ebay for about the price of the 20 GB model or even less. I'll eventually get one later on, but yeah, the iPod is the best thing on the market.
