Wow, I never thought the day would come where the actual moshpit could be destroyed... *sigh*

Complete ignorance. Its no wonder so many children are growing up with the mental capacity of a four-year-old. Metal heads know how to listen to music. Bang your head, raise the evil sign, bring out the lighters, drink some beer, and go home without a head injury.

What a bunch of retards. Exactly why I hate punk.

I remember when a true mosh pit was people moving and dancing around pushing and having a great time. If someone fell you'd circle around him and help him up then go back to having a blast. Now if you fall you get your head kicked in and there is no love in the pit anymore.

Worst thing of all, if anyone around here are Flaw fans, concert i was at people were moshing to My Letter....almost made me cry.

Yea, my metal band 'Novarum' just played a show with Flaw at Harpo's in Detroit and I got to witness that. The bassist from Life of Agony and I were laughing so hard ofstage, just thought ID share, I LOVE a good moshpit, but damn, enough is enough.

Don't get me wrong, i'm an old school mosher, which now seems like it means nothing because most of the pits revolve around ONE fast beat that plays ever 30 seconds and lasts 2...Its embarassing..I'm with you, i sat along the pit helping pick people up but just laughed at the drunk idiots. Did have to take one marine out though, he was grabbing little kids by the head and throwing them down and the staff didn't do anything. Quick palm below the laranx*spelling i know* and that was that.

first of all, punk and metal are two ENTIRELY different things, and anyone with a serious interest in either genre will usally take offense to the two being considered a single entity.

secondly, this is by far the typical show. this took place at hellfest, a very large festival where alcohol and drugs are traditionally very present. this festival also traditionally draws 3000+ people, many of which were at that lamb of god performance. these two factors contributed to the wildness of this performance. most shows have a small fraction of this many people there. ill be the first to admit that there was some crazy stuff going on in that pit. thats one of the reasons i posted this. it is pretty cool.

having said that, all of the shows i go to have pits that stil observe "pit etiquette," for lack of a better term. if you go down, several hands instantly appear to help you up. hell, ive lost shoes and had them returned to me at the end of the song. if this etiquette went away, frankly, id lose a lot of interest in hardcore dancing. a common misconception is that people go to these shows with the sole purpose in mind of hurting as many people as possible. this is far from the truth. while hardcore dancing is certainly pure aggression, and inuries are almost bound to happen, it should never be used to purposely hurt someone.

this will probably not change your mind about any of your preconcieved stereotypes, but hopefully it will shed a little light on the devil worshiping, alcohol fueled brawl that you see it to be.

                          have a nice day.

I take offense to it. I just said "at least Metal-heads know how to listen to music." I love metal. I hate punk. This is why.
