Umm, will someone please try to explain this to me?

I'll condense the CNN article, filed in 1996. PETA, "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals", went on a crusade to tell the residents of "Fishkill, NY" to change the town name. The reason? "it suggests cruelty to fish".

Yep.

I made sure it's not an April fool's gag. And if that's not enough, Last month they went after a town named "Slaughterville". Oklahoma. Yep.

Can I revoke my humanity? Please? I've got another option in mind... Is it "Irony" if a PETA supporter is killed by a whale?

a couple months ago, peta tried to change the name of a town near here called rodeo, ca. the onyl reason peta does it is for the publicity.

Lots of places in NY are named "kill", it means stream or something like that in Dutch.
