Finaly a Leatherman I can live with...

The Locking plyers and the hex driver done put this over the top for me.

I am not normaly a fan of multi tools. I mean normaly they compromise and do everything a little but nothing really well. Some things better than others but rarely do the plyers excel. Main thing I always found wrong was the plyers exerted so little force it was a pain to even try and use them. But now this new Leatherman Crunch model locks! I think I can dig this one. And a hex driver I can see a use for. These might be good Paintball Marker tools. I can see a set of hex drive Allen keys and small nut driver ends used with these... Not to mention the other stuff like screwdriver and wire cutters and all that stuff.

I ordered two of them and will let you know how they do.... Should be here late this or early next week.

Those look pretty sweet I might get some but i use the pliers on those multi-tool things for getting the hooks outta my fish so locking ones wouldnt really be that helpful.

Well you do not Have to lock them. Its just without them locking they are fairly poor at getting a tight or rusty bolt or nut lose. But yea... you can use them as normal plyers if you like

However I think Leatherman makes some fishing specific models as well if I am not mistaken. But these would work. And they are Stainless Steel too...

Ya but they are too short and fat to work very well for fishin some of them hooks get down in there pretty far. They would be ok for large mouth but just about anything else its gonan be a pain to work with.

Too short and fat to work as a normal tool is right. This is why I never liked them. Well...except the knife and some of the screw drivers on minor things. They are sort of a convenience emergency tool more than anything. And in my estimation the plyers were almost useless... up until this one. Thats why I brought it up. They might just have bridged the gap they needed to for my business.

I think everyone agrees they are "usefull" to a point in the field but if normal tools are available those are always going to be better. Its just this one may be usefull enough to attract my interest for keeping on me at the paintball field to tighten up a screw real quick or something... and perhaps to carry on the Scooter for a break down quick fix.... and such as that. Camping is another possibility. Places where normal tools might be back at the staging or at home or something.

Hum, the crunch is a nice tool, but i have been more than impressed with my leatherman wave. the nedle nose pliers are hreat for any thing i have evr needed to work on, great for getting hooks out etc in my opinion. The knives are super sharp, and i love their outter location on the wave.

If you dont want a "vice grip" style leatherman, look into the wave

Well I got these in today. I must say these are rather complicated little things aren't they? I refuse to read the direction... now if I can just figure out how to open the plyers....
