My Army is complete. Imperial Guard Catachans.



I know the picture is huge, sorry The army is pretty huge though.

18 infantry squads (all with heavy & assault weapons, a mix of all of them)
4 Leman Russ Battle Tanks
1 Leman Russ Exterminator
1 Leman Russ Demolisher
1 Basilisk
1 Griffon Mortar (OOP, going to convert it to a Salamander)
1 Hellhound
4 Chimearas (1 isn't assembled yet)
2 Ogryn Squads
1 Stormtrooper Squad
12 Catachan Snipers
5 Ratling Snipers
5 Mortar teams
5 Commissars (1 not shown)
2 Assassins (Eversor and Calladus)
5 OOP Bike Mounted Rough Riders (Have the bikes, need to convert the guys)
6 Sentinels (1 not shown, needs to be repaired)
1 Anti-tank squad (3 lascannons)
Tons of extra assault weapons guys

Various officers and command squad-type guys

I havn't added up all the points yet, but Im going to. My brother has like 5000-7500 pts of Space Marines, I wanna fight him. He says only if he can use his Titan. I think I may just let him

Wow, that's pretty impressive, but I'm seeing unpainted figures!

I've never played Warhammer, but building the stuff and painting it is pretty cool, I may yet get into it.

Looks nice ... but I miss the old Imperial Guard so much;

Human Bombs
Robots
Commissars that shot the unit leader if they failed a leadership test. (Inset recovery)

Humans bombs were the best, they ran down the field waiting to be blown up .. if the vest failed, they would run for the closest table edge. However you could still shoot them and set them off LOL made for fun games.

And commissars still shoot the leader on a failed leadership test, last I checked. They are usually more of a hindrance than a help, but they are just so cool

At one point they had changed that ... I hope it is back though, one of the funniest rules. Have to get pics of my Harlequins on here sometime heheeh there is an evil army my friend.

Im playing an 1850 point tournament soon. I think Im just going to use as many troops as possible.

That is pretty nice. You're using that Catachan Regimental Variant right?

I'm working on my IG army (or My Hordes of Bullet Catching Dying Guys) Though, I'm using the docterine system to give them all a 4= save, sharp shooter, and taking special weapon squads, tech priests, and storm troopers.

I love the Imperial Guard.

I'm not using Doctrines at all. I find vanilla IG is the best overall way to go.

You can customize IG to slaughter Tyranids, or Orcs, or Marines, etc, but then you open up weaknesses to other armies.

A good IG army has no weakenesses

Funny story somewhat related to Imperial Guards ...

We had played in a tourney one time that was one of those 500 point bring and battle games ... well I brought some Sisters of Battle I had laying around, and my buddy in an attempt to theme our units decided to bring Ogryns.

So wait you think where is the theme .... well his g/f at the time actually made small catholic girl school dresses for them, and he used green stuff to "enhance" them and give them hair. Was the funniest group to see on the field Sisters of Battle support by female Ogryns. The only thing he didnt get done was the book bags he wanted to make to put on their backs.

Yeah, I played a guy the other day using my Hordes of Bullet Catching Dying Guys, and hosed him down when I got range on him. It was pretty ugly...

Ive always wanted to get into it, tried twice but never had the cash, or anyone who plays it. I remember wanting to start up an Eldar, a Tau, Tyranid, and Space Marines at one point.. lol, not all at once, but I could never decide.
