Name me one thats better? Thats the problem... -
Yes it is a problem. I think its actually China that has a system like that, they get you a job (probably a lousy one but a job non the less when they release you). It also costs them about 50 cents per execution
And I think a variation of what I just described would work better than what is in place now.

Everything you've said just makes the government bigger.
I don't want to monitor a criminal. Why should he get special treatment? Let them screw up and return to prison (most do anyways).
I support none of it.Comment

Well as I said a variation of it, perhaps not force them to work, but provide them with the oppertunity. I would say defiantly say deny them government aid because they were given the oppertunity to work, and they shouldn't get tax dollars for being lazy.Originally posted by Restola

As I also said the monitering is an option, and actually the more I think about it the more I think it wouldn't be worth it to montior them.
I don't see how it makes the government bigger if your not forcing them to work (just giving them the one time opportunity), and not monitering them.
Alot of them screw up again because they are unable to find any legitimate lifestyle. I believe after they have had the oppertunity if they resort to crime again they will most likely never fall out of the life, and much harsher penelties should then be given.
Let them screw up again? So do you want to be mugged once in your life or every six months when he gets out again?

Poor analogy...China is communist, we are not.Yes it is a problem. I think its actually China that has a system like that, they get you a job (probably a lousy one but a job non the less when they release you).Comment

they also try alot of bad ideas to control the population which falls into the legal system deal they have over there...Comment

Another issue very closely connected with this is the drug legalization issue. I will not argue for it here, but getting people out of jail who are serving time for non-violent drug offenses will GREATLY increase our ability to deal with the criminals who aren't just hurting themselves.Comment

Well just because most of there government sucks, that doesn't mean they don't do some things right. I don't recall mentioning anything about population controll in my previous posts
.
I will be fine with drug legalization the day they say there will be no government aid for anyone who does drugs.
You loose your job because of a drug problem to damn bad, your out on your butt, no welfare for you. You have some kind of medical problem resulting from drugs too bad, looks like your going to die it was your own damn choice. You want to go to rehab, well you can just pay for it if not oh well. The day the government adapts those policies I will be fine with legalization of drugs.

When A person is released from jail we find them a job, and a place to stayComment

Ive been to court a few times for traffic tickets
. 1 thing i noticed unfair was there are always these guys there, and they didnt pay there fines cause they dont have a job and therefor dont have the money. What does the judge do? he increases there fines! i mean they cant pay the fines they have now so lets give them more fines? come on. Some of these guys even serve jail cause they cant pay there fines. Now when there out lets see them get a job after getting out of jail. Once your locked in the system your done. I couldnt pay a parking ticket 1 time and I went and told the judge I just paid my car payment, my cell bill, and my car insurance. Judge told me I should manage my money better and a $80 ticket in the end almost cost me $200 cause he wanted to teach me to manage my money better
Im not some bleeding heart I think there should be more people on deathrow and they shouldnt wait 20 years let alone 20 min.
