It's worked great for me. I'll be off of it in May. So far my face has cleared up over 90% from what it was, which wasn't horrible but, it wasn't pretty either. The side effects are almost negligable, at least in my case. A little dryness, which is easy to take care of.

Impostal22: It shrinks the oil glands, so the oil has to go somewhere, which is usually through a pimple. But, it clears up and doesn't come back.

it worked great for me. I was on it for four months and it cleared it all up. I highly recommend it. My doctor told me about the depression, but then noted that all his pateients had better outlooks AFTER it because it cleared everything up so much. It was around $1000 or so for a four month treatment. There is some generic stuff though that is considerably cheaper...

I used it back in HS.

I hated what it did to me, which was dry me up, which on top of 5 hours a day in a chlorinated pool was pretty dry, my lips cracked a lot, but my acne went away, and very rarely comes back.

I might get 1 or 2 zits a month now, if that.

From what I have read, the depression thing is a media myth. I have a hard time believing having a clear face will depress anyone who had an acne problem.

what's the best way to fight the dryness? because last time i tried treating my acne, i ended up with a really red and dry face. to counter it, i used utter cream (supposed to be really good for dry skin), but it didn't help at all. my face just burned like crazy for a while, and continued for a week after i stopped using the stuff.

Lots and Lots of Neutrogena moisturizer...

Another brand called Eucerin is good too, its thick stuff, not runny, works really well. Also make sure to stay out of the sun while using it, it makes your skin sensitive...
